Paris was the last of this class to complete, entering service at the start of WW1. All four ships were based in the Mediterranean in WW1 and were deployed in the Black Sea at the end of the war. Courbet was scuttled as part of the sea defences of a Mulberry Harbour, Paris was not broken up until 1955.
