The model represents "Derfflinger" during the most active part of her war service. She is credited with sinking the HMS Queen Mary at Jutland where she received 21 heavy shell hits. After the battle, she was refitted with a wide based tripod mast (see model 24N). Interned in Scapa Flow in 1918, she was scuttled in 1919 and was the last major warship to be raised (1939) and scapped at Faslane (along with the ex-German floating drydock used to get her there) in 1946. A Coastlines model of the salvaged Derfflinger is also available from Antics.
