Yakumo was designed and built in Germany but the Japanese requested that Elswick guns were fitted to ensure compatibility with ships already in service. She served throughout the Russo-Japanese War & the First World War and became a training ship in the 1920s. She survived WW2 and was scrapped in 1947.
