Navis Neptun 1/1250 1389A LST 2 the archetypal Allied Landing Ship of WW2

LST 2 is a second-hand, 1/1250 scale, waterline, metal model of a landing ship designed to beach on an enemy shore and unload heavy equipment, such as full sized heavy tanks, to support troops who had already landed from smaller landing craft. This highly detailed model was made by Neptun in Germany and is a superb example of the famous model makers at the peak of their reputation, see photograph.

These "Large Slow Targets" saw service with most of the Allied Navies during the European Landings.
