Navis Neptun 1/1250 44AN SMS Elbing, German Light Cruiser, 1914-16
SMS Elbing is a second-hand, 1/1250 scale, waterline, metal model of the German light cruiser during WW1 by Navis, catalogue number 44AN. The model is in very good condition, see photograph.
This light cruiser was building in Germany for Russia and was taken over after the start of WW1. Elbing was sunk during the Battle of Jutland.
Elbing's sistership, Pillau, Navis 44N, survived WW1 and became the Italian cruiser Bari, Neptun1545, and was used as a training cruiser in WW2.
