Europa and her sistership Africa were replacement ships built for Lloyd Triestino after WW2 during which almost all their fleet had been sunk. They were modern, sleek, stylish ships with a reputation for being the best equipped passenger ships sailing down the coast of East Africa. Both survived until 1976 when they were sold for further service with other lines.
