The LMV Lince light multirole tactical vehicle was developed by the Italian company Iveco Defence Vehicles in the early 2000s to meet the need for a new-generation light armoured vehicle for troop transport and advanced reconnaissance, capable of operating on any type of terrain and in all operational conditions. It is still considered today one of the most successful light tactical vehicles in its category, capable of offering a good level of protection against small-arms fire and shrapnel. The Lince’s crew compartment is designed as an armoured “capsule” independent from the chassis, a solution that improves crew protection in the event of explosions beneath the hull. The Lince has been deployed in numerous operational theatres, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Balkans.
