This three-axle vehicle was built at the beginning of World War II for the US forces, who required vehicles to carry a body of infantry of 12 men, and in some cases was equipped with a M2 heavy machine-gun. A variant of the original version with two axles and built in the 1930s, the WC 62 was good on rough terrain and proved to be a very reliable vehicle. The WC 62 and the WC 63 variant, which had a winch, was manufactured even after the end of the war and equipped the transport units of many armies of allied countries of the US, where they were used up until the 1970s.
