Battleship Markgraff served with Kaiser German Navy of WWI period. She belonged to the Konig Class Battleship type ships. Markgraf was commissioned 1.10.1914 and entered the 3rd Squadron of Open Sea Navy (Hochseeflotte). The battleship took part in many actions against the British Navy and fought in Battle of Jutland (May 31 – June 1,1916). She was 3rd ship in battleline, received 5 main caliber hits and was seriously damaged. Upkeep ended June 20, 1916, and Markgraf entered her 3rd Squadron again. The battleship took part in operations against Russian Navy in October 1917 at Riga Bay region. 29.10.1917 she were damaged by Russian mine and were recovered to the base. After the armistice was signed, Markgraf was interned by alliances at Scapa Flow, were she was sank by her crew on June 21, 1919.
