Completed at Swindon in September 1952 82019 was sent to the Southern region and allocated to Exmouth Junction (Exeter) shed. The locomotive stayed there until moving to Eastleigh in September 1962, possibly for an overhaul before being allocated to Nine Elms shed that November. 82019 was withdrawn from service at Nine Elms in July 1967.
