Completed at Swindon in November 1954 82027 was sent to Kirkby Stephen shed, moving on to West Hartlepool in February 1958. The engin then worked from Malton, Scarborough and York sheds until being sent to Guildford in September 1963. Working from Bournemouth shed in the summer of 1964 82027 moved to Nine Elms in September that year, remaining there until withdrawn from service in January 1966.
