Corgi 1/72 AA32001 PreOwned Hurricane BE241 174 SPD

Hawker Hurricane MkII - BE421, 174 Sqd. As combat altitudes increased the green and brown camouflage was considered too dark and a new one introduced. After trials on Spitfires, a Hurricane was painted, in Medium Sea Grey and Olive Grey with Sky Blue under surfaces, at North Weald in May 1941. After further trials with a variety of colour schemes the decision was taken to retain the current Dark Green and add the new Ocean Grey with Medium Sea Grey under surfaces, thereby reducing the man hours involved in the change. This came in after 15th Aug.1941 and depicted on this Hurricane MkII of 174 Squadron.
