Coastlines CL-PH101a Ford Island airfield control tower 1942 onwards 1/1250
A 1/1250 scale model of the control tower of Ford Island airfield in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by Coastlines Models, CL-PH101a.
The airfield control tower on Ford Island was the tallest structure on Ford Island when it was erected shortly before the Japanese air raid in 1941. The metal tower was still painted in grey primer during the raid but was painted in red and white to make it more visible both to aircraft and as a daymark for ships coming to anchor in the navy base when completed and fully operational in 1942.
