Coastlines 1/1250 CL-D09 Floating dry-dock and Type VII U-boat
A 1/1250 scale resin model of a German dry-dock and Type VII submarine by Coastlines Models CL-D09. This dock was designed to lift U-boats out of the water for maintenance in the wet bays of armoured bunkers on sites where there was no covered slipway. This dock is based on a drawing of the dock at Noorsee III bunker Heligoland but similar docks were used elsewhere. The Nordzee III bunker model in the photograph is available separately.
The dry-dock contains a full-hull model of a type Vii U-boat from which all periscopes etc have been removed for specialist servicing before being lifted in the dock. This would ensure clearance when the dock went underneath the roof of the bunker.
