Europa entered service with low funnels similar to Bremen and captured the Blue Riband from her. The passengers on this run complained of soot landing on the decks, so the funnels were raised by 15ft over the summer and this model has the taller funnels. Bremen did not recapture the Blue Riband until 1933. Shortly after this, Cunard decided to allow Mauretania (built 1907) to have another attempt but she just failed to beat Bremen's latest timing although she did beat her earlier time!
