A 1/1250 scale metal model of SS America a United States Lines transatlantic liner in 1923.
Amaerica was built in 1905 at Harland & Wolff Belfast for Hamburg America Line. As Amerika she was the largest liner in the world. During WW1 she became a US troop transport then a re-patriation ship becoming a liner again in 1923.
In 1931 she was laid up and only re-activated in 1940 as an accommodation ship, later as a transport Edmund B Alexander with one finnel and plated in main deck. Laid up in 1948 she was only scrapped in 1957.
