Adonia started life as R8 for Renaissance Cruises but became a Princess Cruises ship when her owners went into liquiation. She was moved around the new group having names such as Royal Princess, Minerva II, Royal Princess again before becoming Adonia. About 12 months ago she became a ship allowed to cruise from USA to Cuba for Fathom cruises but retained the name Adonia and came back to P&O earlier this year. She has now been sold to Azamara Cruises who already operate two other R-class ships, Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey.
