Lancastria was built in 1922 and taken over on completion by Cunard who used her primarily as a cruise ship. A sistership was Anchor Line's Tuscania. Lancastria is infamous because she was sunk with great loss of life when leaving Saint Nazaire with Diplomatic, British and European refugees in 1940.
