Albatros 1/1250 Alk341 Canberra the P&O cruise ship as a troop transporter during the Falklands War 1982 Waterline Metal Model
Albatros's model of Canberra as modified for her trip to the Falklands war! P&O Orient-Lines passenger ship; built by Harland & Wolff, 1957-1961, the largest passenger ship ever built that was not intended for the North Atlantic liner service. 249.9 x31.1m, 45.270BRT, max 27.5 knots, turbine drive via 2 screws. Used in the liner service GB-Australia. All year round from 1974 as a cruise ship.
Around 20cm long
Requisitioned for the Falklands War, 1982 serving as a troop transport, then reverting to a cruise ship. 1997 CANBERRA was decommissioned
placed, sold to Pakistan and broken up there. CANBERRA was probably one of the most elegant passenger ships ever built. With the Navy people
it was the "White Whale" that, with a lot of luck, left the Falklands war unscathed.
