Albatros 1/1250 Alk327 MS Atlantic Conveyor as during the Falklands War
The ship that took the Chinooks to the South Atlantic, where they ended up on the bottom.
Albatros' new Alk327 is a 1/1250th scale die-cast model of the MS Atlantic Conveyor container ship owned by Cunard but requisitioned during the Falkands War. Sailing for Ascension Island on the 25th April, Conveyor then arrived off the Falklands in mid May, offloading the eight Sea Harriers and six Harrier GR3s she carried to HMS Hermes and HMS Invincible. Hit by two Exocet missiles on 25th May, and uncontrollable fire killed 12 sailors, including Captain Ian North, the ship sank whilst under tow on May 28th 1982, taking down five Chinooks.
