Albatros 1/1250 Alk114 Lady Rodney troopship in WW2
Lady Rodney was a Canadian ferry that was requesitioned by the Canadian Government early in WW2 to transport troops to defend the British Empire. Sister-ships were used as Armed Merchant Cruisers, AA ships and Hospital Ships during WW2 and all these variants have been made by Albatros in the past.
The Candian Pacific fast ferries were the equivalent of the Norwegian Hurtigruten and German Baltic ferries linking sparsely populated communities with coastal cities along the seaboard. Their speed and manouverability made them ideal armed merchant cruisers, AA vessels, hospital ships and ocean boarding vessels. Albatros has made the trooptransport version of Lady Rodney previously as Alk109. It seems thatHe intends to group these ships together and we expect that from 2025 onwards the Hospital Ship will become Alk114A Lady Nelson. We will advise you of the changes as they become apparent.....
