Albatros 1/1250 Alk113 HMHS Aquitania, WW1 hospital ship, 1915
A 1/1250 scale model of HMHS Aquitania as a hospital ship. The model is cast in metal, assembled and painted and fully finished in hospital ship livery (white with buff funnels, green hull stripe and red crosses on the hull).
Aquitania was the last 4-funnel trans-Atlantic liner in service, surviving until after WW2. She was not built for absolute speed like Lusitania & Mauritania but Cunard needed a third ship to maintain their timetable and match the Olympic class ships of the White Star Line. She served as a Hospital Ship & a Troopship in WW1 and a Troopship in WW2.
