Albatros 1/1250 ALK670 HMCS Montreal Waterline Ship Model
Montreal is a 1/1250 scale model, waterline, metal model of a Halifax-class frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy. The model is in post mid-life extension refit condition which is intended to keep these ships in service into the 2030s. These models have been made by Albatros SM.
Originally, the Halifax-class frigates were intended to be general purpose anti-submarine vessels for the Cold War but in the 21st century, their AA capability has been improved and those based at Halifax can act to defend NATO task groups in the Atlantic. Seven of the 12 frigates are based in Halifax, of which Montreal is one, and five are based in Esqimault in the Northern Pacific.
