The T34/76 achieved its greatest fame at the Battle of Stalingrad when tanks were being driven straight off the production line into combat.
In 1943 the T34/85, also featured in this kit, was introduced. This carried a larger 85 mm calibre gun in a bigger turret. The T34 was powered by a 500 h.p. diesel engine giving a road speed of approximately 30 m.p.h.
Armament, in addition to the main gun, consisted of two 7.62 mm maching guns. The weight was 26 tons and 4 crew in the T34/76, increased to 32 tons and 5 crew in the T34/85.
