The 750cc Norton Commando was introduced in 1967 by the Norton Motorcycle Motorcycle, powered by a parallel twin cylinder 750cc engine with two valves per cylinder. Use of a Isolastic anti-vibration system provided an impressive increase in riding comfort. The Norton Commando, replaced the outdated Atlas, and was immediately a great success. It became popular and well-known all over the world. In the United Kingdom it won the Motor Cycle News "Machine of the Year" award for five successive years from 1968 to 1972 with the the modern and innovative shape particularly liked.
