WW1 US Navy

The current, superdetailed "N" model of the last battleship type built for the United States at the end of WW1.

Some castings said Tennessee underneath and some said California! This model is Second-hand in very good condition.

Arrived December 2012! A special limited edition model of New Mexico in WW1 with 3D-printed cage masts (supported only by the external framework, no internal supports). A tour de force of miniature modelling to celebrate 50 years of the Navis Neptun company.

Nevada & Oklahoma (BB37) were the first battleships with "all or nothing" armour but they were fitted with different engines in a competitive trial (Nevada steam turbines and Oklahoma quadruple expansion steam engines).

Wyoming and Arkansas (BB33) were the last 12" gun battleships in the US navy. Arkansas served in the Grand Fleet during WW1 and served in the Atlantic in WW2. Wyoming became a training ship in the 1920s and served as a a gunnery training ship in WW2.

She was re-named "Saratoga" to release the name for a Dreadnought Battleship, BB34, and again "Rochester" to free the name for the battlecruiser turned aircraft carrier! She was scutted in Subic Bay in December 1941.

A 1/1250 scale metal model of USS Mount Vernon, ex-Kronprinzessin Cecilie, as a dazzle-painted trooper in WW1. Originally one of the famous German 4-funnel transatlantic liners, she was interned in USA after the outbreak of war and taken over as a troopship when USA entered the war and camouflaged.

New for 2010! The former German liner, Prinz Eitel Friedrich, was taken over by the US government in 1917 and converted to a troopship.
