A 1/1250 scale metal waterline model of Uss Florida, BB30, in 1929. The model has a float plane on the catapult mounted on the midships turret. The original mainmast with its after main armament director had to be removed from the ship to fit the catapult and a pole mast was fitted instead. The London Treaty prevented the further modification to upgrade Florida & her sister Utah by increasing the maximum elevation of the main guns and so Florida was withdrawn and scrapped and Utah became a target ship as the treaty came into effect.
