Designed as a Seatrain ferry, the ship was talen over when building to become a transport ship for tanks for the Operation Torch landings in North Africa. She made several tank deliveries for the Noth Africa campaign and then was handed over to the Army in 1943 for the rest of WW2, before being retuned to her owners. She also served in the Korean War and, once again in private ownership, was scrapped in 1957.
