Kingsbridge Branch B Set - Two Coaches
Detailed models of the GWR diagram E140 60' brake composite coaches, close-coupled at the compartment ends supplied as a pair. These coaches are finished as coaches allocated to the Kingsbridge branch which was regularly worked by the early 'flat-top' tank 45xx engines.
Ideal for use with Lionheart Trains 45xx small prairie and 64/74xx class pannier tank engines.
Supplied as a set of 2 coaches painted in GWR Brown Orange with city crests.
The 2-coach 'B set' is familiar to modellers of the GWR, these sets being the standard trains on many of the scenic West Country branchlines. Coaches were often allocated to specific duties or branches, with the allocation marked on the ends of the coaches along with a set number for identification. Sets were exchanged regularly for maintenance, so would have been seen forming a mainline stopping train en-route to the nearest carriage and wagon shops, but often a set of coaches worked on a specific branchline for many years.
