Detailed model of the GWR 517 class 0-4-2T, recreating the class after 1900 with lengthened wheelbase, choice of open or enclosed cab and original or extended 'Swindon' style bunker. Highly detailed model of the GWR 57xx pannier tanks introduced in 1929 finished in post-WW2 GWR mid-chrome green lettered G W R, the livery carried by many 57xx panniers into the 1950s and in some cases until withdrawn.Locomotive 3762 was one of the 50 Swindon built original 57xx panniers and noted as being equipped with steam train heating and the GWRs ATC in-cab warning system from new, clearly indicating these engines were intended to be suitable for passenger services and main line routes. Swindon built panniers were equipped with welded side tanks.The Dapol model has proven highly capable with a wide range of options built into the tooling design and a diecast chassis providing sufficient weight for realistic trains to be hauled. Smooth drive from a modern low-current motor to the coupled wheels, allows an OO/HO type 21-pin DCC decoders to used with sound options available.

Bachmann OO 37-528E 20 ton BR Brake Van Unfitted Grey
The Bachmann Branchline 20T Brake Van has long been the model of choice to bring up the rear of many a goods train and it’s easy to see why this model is still a firm favourite. Capturing the character of the prototype, the Branchline model is adorned with separate handrails, roof vents – which on this example are of the oval torpedo variety – and lamp brackets. The footboards are also separately fitted, allowing different lengths to be modelled to suit the van being modelled – in this case long footboards are present.  This particular brake van also carries end weights, is fitted with end handrails, has planked sides and ends and has planked veranda partitions, whilst the cabin doors have two windowpanes each.

Peco PS-332 Real Coal Coarse Lumps 130g
There is coal, and then there is Real Coal!No scenic scatter can match the unique light-reflective properties of multi-faceted lumps of real coal. The only way to recreate it in model form is by using real coal, crushed to a suitably fine grade for model use.Peco now offer three grades of real coal, crushed and sieved, ideal for finishing wagon loads, steam locomotive bunkers and as scenic highlights in goods coal depots and locomotive sheds. Useful for any scale from N to O, as coal was screened, sorting the lumps into a range of consistent sizes before being loaded into wagons. Each wagon would therefore normally contained coal lumps of a quite uniform size.
