A 1/1250 scale model of USS Commencement Bay by Navis Neptun 1320.

The Commencement Bays were a development of the Sangamons having the tanker hulls, uprated power plants and the island similar to the Saipans. The longer flight deck enabled them to be used with aircraft introduced after WW2 and Commencement Bay herself remained in the US Navy until 1971.
