A new and detailed N gauge model of the BR West Coast Mainline Electric Scots of class 87. These locomotives were built for the newly electrified London to Glasgow services in the mid 1970s and ran until replaced by Pendolino trains in the mid-2000s. From 36 locomotives built 1 remains in service in Britain today, with 2 more preserved examples plus 19 working and 2 stored in Bulgaria.
This model is powered by Dapols 5-pol Super-Creep motor driving all axles with body tooling designed to replicate many detail changes between build and present day, including the unique thyristor testbed loco 87101. Posable cross-arm or Brecknell-Willis pantographs are fitted and an accessory bag of optional parts is supplied
Model finished as 87031 Hal o'the Wynd in BR rail blue livery, 1970s-mid-1980s.
