In September 1937 the LNER introduced their East Anglian service, with the first train departing on the 27th. To celebrate this service, and to bring the locomotives more in line with several other recent LNER services which were all hauled by A4 locomotives two examples of the class were fitted with A4 style streamlining. These were designated the B17/5s.
'East Anglian' started out life as 2859 Norwich City, before gaining its streamlining under the LNER in 1937. The locomotive retained this streamlined shell into BR ownership until 1949 when the locomotive was rebuilt as a B17/6 in line with much of its classmates. The locomotive would go on to be withdrawn in March 1960 wearing the BR number of 61659 and was not preserved.

This model of the B17 includes a newly tooled body with full 'clothing' and cab detail. The locomotive features a 5 pole motor with flywheel and couples to rolling stock via NEM couplings front and rear.

2870 was introduced in to LNER service in 1937 as Manchester City, before being hastily renamed to Tottenham Hotspur. In September of the same year the locomotive would be renamed again to City of London and would be given its streamlined panels. The locomotive would be rebuilt as the B17/6 in April 1951 before being withdrawn 9 years later in April 1960 as 61670.

67025 entered service with EWS in May of 2000, the locomotive would be painted in the standard EWS colour scheme and would be named 'Western Star' in mid-2001. Passing into DB Schenker ownership from EWS, although never wearing the livery, the locomotive would be leased by DB Cargo to Transport for Wales for operation on their Cardiff to Holyhead services. In TfW colours, the locomotive would not wear its name, although the locomotive is still officially named.
The Hornby Class 67 contains a 5 pole motor, dual flywheels and dual bogie drive. An 8 pin DCC socket provides digital compatibility with easy access to a speaker fitment position. The locomotive is also fitted with front and rear lights.

In 2023, the Hornby Dublo Deltic model fills a hole in Hornby history, with the DP1 Deltic featuring on the cover of the 2nd edition catalogue in 1960, but never actually being made in physical form unlike the Class 55 Deltic, which did receive a Hornby Dublo incarnation. This model is fitted with a diecast body, 21 pin DCC decoder socket for digital operation, a 5 pole motor with dual flywheels and dual bogie drive. This is surely, not a Dublo model to be missed.
Please note that this model is non-sound. Hornby advise the 2023 catalogue information is intended to show that a HM7000 bluetooth controlled sound decoder will be available for this model. The factory fitted sound model is R30297TXS.
Release planned for December 2024.
