The second batch of the popular BR standard class 3MT prairies has arrived. This was a modern and highly successful design as the locomotives offered a significant increase in power over the smaller class 2 versions, always welcomed by footplate crews!
The model is extremely well detailed!
Sadly however none of the class survived to preservation, the early, low-powered diesel locomotives being produced to handle the branchline freights and passenger duties being turned over to diesel units. However there is a new project to build a new loco on the SVR well underway, with the frames having been erected at Bridgenorth.
