APT & Pendolino Trains

Highly detailed model of the APT-E experimental Advanced Passenger Train test train from the early 1970s.
This 4-car test train was powered by gas turbines and incorporated a number of features being developed for the proposed next generation of British express passenger trains. Test runs were operated on the Great Western mainline between 1973 and 1975, with the experimental train being sent to the NRM at York for preservation in 1976.

This train pack contains a 5 car BR Class 370 Advanced Passenger Train APT with set 370 003 driving cab car DTS Sc48103, first buffet car TBF Sc48603, power car NDM Sc49003 City of Derby and equivalent set 370 004 cars TBF Sc48604 and DTS Sc48104.

This coach pack includes the two TU unclassified coaches to extend the R3874 7-car Advanced Passenger Train (APT) train pack forming units 370 001 and 370 002.
These coaches were intended to seat first or second class passengers, allowing seating to be adapted to suit demand.
