Based on the station building at Bishops Lydeard similar buildings were constructed at most of the stations on the original West Somerset Railway.
These smallrectangular buildings showing the influence of the Bristol and Exeter Railway were quite small by GWR standards, one side of the usually off-centre booking hall was the booking office with station masters' office behind, while opposite was a general waiting room with ladies lavatory. A gentlemens lavatory was behind the stationmasters' office and accessed from the outside. All the facilities needed for a basic station building and offices were therefore combined into this compact building, ideal for use on small O gauge layouts.

A detailed O gauge model kit constructing a McKenzie and Holland design signal box.
Railway signalling contractors McKenzie and Holland were able to provide the full range of signalling equipment needed, including signal boxes. Many minor railways contracted the supply of their signalling and standard McKenzie and Holland boxes could be found anywhere in the country. One of the best-known surviving examples is Highly Signal Box on the Severn Valley Railway.

A detailed O gauge model kit constructing a goods shed based on the shed at Ashburton, formerly on the Dart Valley Railway.

Model kit building a detailed replica of the small stone-built station building at Chelfam on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
This small rectangular building is a straight-forward and basic station building built in local stone without any distinctive styling. While well-known due to the popularity of the Lynton and Barnstaple line this building is ideal for a small way-side station on any narrow or standard gauge line, especially a line built originally by an independent or light railway company with station structures erected by a local builder.

The Lynton & Barnstaple line often used a small 'hut' to accommodate a small ground frame and the block instruments, making this an ideal structure for any passenger-carrying minor railway of narrow or standard gauge where points and signals were interlocked.
The building will also be ideal for a lamp hut or small office or storage lock-up for a station platform, goods yard or coal merchant.

We're not sure what this building is being based on, but your passengers always need somewhere to go!
A general-purpose toilet block is an ideal accessory for station platforms, especially where only a small station office building is provided and for anyone modelling a heritage railway setting for the benefit of 'anything goes' in terms of rolling stock.

Model under development, details to be advised.
We expect this large station building kit will replicate one of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railways' large Swiss chalet style buildings, as provided at most of the major stations.
While not unique to the L&B the style is quite distinctive and will provide an excellent setting for the Dapol Lionheart Trains O16.5 Lynton & Barnstaple models.
