SU-122 is the average mass Soviet self-propelled artillery mount of the assault gun class, created on the basis of the T-34 tank. In 1943, the first Su-122 prototypes entered service. Self-propelled gun was designed to support and escort tanks. This machine was one of the first self-propelled guns developed in the USSR, adopted in large-scale production. A total of 638 samples were produced. Production of the Su-122 was discontinued due to the transition to the production of the Su-85 tank destroyer, which was created on its basis.
