The airportable light air defence system on the Wiesel 2 was developed in the 1990s and delivered to the troops from 2000. A basic requirement was the capability to load up two vehicles in the CH-53G for air transport. The Wiesel 2 can be used in various versions. As the Ozelot (Ocelot) weapons platform its role is air defence and air space surveillance. This vehicle that is only 4 m long has a low silhouette and high mobility.
