HMS Ivanhoe was launched February 11th, 1937 and on the 29th March 1940 regreatably had to torpedo and sunk the damaged British destroyer HMS Grafton in English Channel. On 31st August 1940 sailed on mine lying mission off the Dutch coast. 1st September HMS Ivanhoe went to aid of damaged HMS Esk to provide assistance but hit a mine and was badly damaged, so much so she had to be sunk by HMS Kelvin.
