The one-ton half-track Demag was used by the German Army all over Europe during the entire duration of World War II. Due to its excellent cross-country characteristics and its sturdy design the D7 went through a number of modifications to accommodate anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns which were needed all throughout the war. This version was equipped with a PAK 38 50mm gun and was one of the first to be used at the Eastern front. Engine and driver’s cabin are protected by armor plates which were generally field conversions.
