The Dapol East Anglian train pack features British Railways Britannia class 7MT pacific locomotive 70039 Sir Christopher Wren finished in lined green livery with early embelms hauling a train of four Gresley corridor coaches finished in BR crimson and cream livery.
This train pack nicely recreates an express passenger train over the former Great Eastern routes into East Anglia to which the Britannias were assigned from new.
While the former Great Eastern lines into East Anglia had received some new locomotives under LNER ownership nothing as powerful as the Britannia pacific type had been assigned to the area. These superb new engines for the main expresses and continental boat trains were welcomed by the locomotive crews who regularly turned in some very fine performances which their later diesel powered replacaments struggled to match.
