Nicely detailed model of the British Railways design Shark ballast train brake van finished in the olive green livery which replaced the original black on engineering wagons.
The Shark brake vans were fitted with ballast ploughs designed to distribute clean ballast dropped from hopper wagons across and to the sides of the track as the train moved forward, greatly speeding up the spreading of fresh ballast.
