Bachmann 32-756ASF GWR 57602 Restornel Castle Class 57/6 Co-Co Locomotive New Great Western Railway Green DCC and Sound OO
A superbly detailed model of locomotive 57603 Tintagel Castle painted in the latest GWR green livery. Bachmanns' model features a heavy die-cast chassis accommodating a centrally mounted motor and flywheel assembly for smooth running driving both bogies and all six axles. The bodyshell tooling was designed to incorporate the detail differences between different series of class 57 locomotives, the Great Western locos having four-section radiator grilles.
Following on from the 75mph freight-only class 57s rebuilds for Freighliner Brush Traction built a speculative prototype passenger version with Electric Train Supply (train heating) numbered 57601. Great Western tested the locomotive on daytime and sleeper train services before ordering four locomotives, primarily for the overnight sleeper service.
