The U.S.S. Akron and U.S.S. Macon were never as widely known as the iconic Hindenburg, but they each served America well as air born aircraft carriers. The gigantic rigid airships matched Hindenburg’s mass. They served in reconnaissance missions for the US Navy. Unfortunately like their German counterpart, they suffered similar tragic fates. This kit from AMT brings back the kit that allows builders to choose between creating the two Navy airships. The model comes with a display cradle and decal sheet that includes the ships’ markings.
