The Sopwith Camel was the most successful British fighter and
reconnaissance aircraft of the First World War. Many of its pilots
achieved the status of "Ace" during aerial combat. The most famous
amongst these was the Canadian pilot Arthur Roy Brown. More than 5,500
"Camels" were delivered and achieved a total of 1,294 kills in aerial
combat.
