D-DAY SERIES - NORMANDY 1944/2014
Field
Artillery Tractors played an important part in World War II, which was already
highly mechanized. The various countries found variety of different solutions
to the problem of towing heavy guns. Great Britain and the Commonwealth for
example adopted 4-cheel drive tractors. Widely used in Europe and the Far East,
CMP Artillery Tractors soldiered on through the immediate post-war years in
both military and civilian guise. By virtue of their power and reliability many
of these tractors survive today alongside more modern vehicles. Our
model was produced by General Motors in Canada.
