Revell 03197 German Sd.Kfz. 251/16 Ausf. C halftrack Kit 1/72
This medium armoured fighting vehicle, 16,000 of which were built from 1938, was the main combat vehicle and armoured personnel carrier of the German mechanised infantry in the Second World War. The Sd.Kfz 251/16 type C, so-called "flame thrower", was equipped with two lateral 14 mm flame thrower 42s and two MG 42s. Flammable oil was pumped through spray nozzles and ignited. The flames had a maximum range of 40 m.

Quite early on Halftracks had clearly demonstrated their remarkable off-road capabilities when compared with wheeled vehicles and so it was only natural to develop armoured versions for military use. Production of the Sd.Kfz. 251 commenced in 1938 with first deliveries to an Armoured Infantry Unit in 1939. Mass produced around 16,000 times, this fully armoured vehicle was deployed on almost all European Battlefields in a multitude of variants. One of these variants is the Sd.Kfz. 251/16 was a flame throwing tank with two side mounted flame throwers.
