Conscious of the Sierra Cosworth's success, Opel launched a high-performance four-wheel-drive version of the Vectra in 1992. Well-equipped, but subtle and discreet, it was not as overtly sporting as the Cosworth but matched its pace and traction whilst undercutting Ford's market leader by several thousand pounds. However, it never sold as well as expected, perhaps because it was a later addition to the market and had no motor sport pedigree.
