Large and detailed models WW2 fighters. The range covers the last of the 1930s biplane fighters through to the late Spitfires and Corsairs which served into the 1950s. Famous aircraft and the mounts of famous pilots. The larger scale really brings out the detail of these models, while being no larger than many 1:72 scale modern jet fighter models. A good compromise between space and detail.

By the end of WWII Hartmann had 352 victories; all on the Eastern Front. Soviets called him the “Black Devil”.

The unit trained in Germany using the Bf-109 and the Dornier Do-17 before being sent to the Eastern Front. During the units time on the Eastern Front the Bf-109s managed to score 283 victories and the Do-17 flew 2,332 missions. The unit was disbanded on July 21, 1944 and became the Croatian Air Force Training Group. Mato Dukovac was the leading Croatian Fighter Ace with between 40 and 44 victories.

On the 24th during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons he shot down three Vals and a Zero. In 1943 Runyon returned to combat as a commissioned officer flying a Hellcat and scored three more victories with VF-18.

In December 1939 Romania ordered 50 Bf-109Es, 11 delivered in 1940 and the remaining 39 arriving one year later. These aircraft equipped the new Grupul 7 Vanatoare in time for them to take part in operation Barbarossa. But by mid 1941 the group had lost aircraft and was withdrawn to be replenished with 15 used German Bf-109E-7s. The unit returned to the front in time for the Battle of Stalingrad. Grupul 7 had 8 aircraft captured by the Soviets including Bf-109E3 No. 9 “Hai Fetito” flown by Lt. loan Di Cesare who is credited with 16 victories.
