A 1/1250 scale resin model of Skerryvore Lighthouse from 1970 to the present day by Coastlines Models CL-L02a.
The most imposing lighthouse in the Western Isles of Scotland. The Atlantic swell foams around the rocks, even in relatively calm weather. The white water around the lighthouse model has been modelled from photographs of the real lighthouse.
The lighthouse is has the tallest tower of any lighthouse in British waters and it was designed and built by Alan Stevenson. This version provides an authentic backdrop for ship models such as Rhenania Junior's Calmac ferries, Finnlaggan and Bute. The helipad markings were added to the real lighthouse after automation following the fire which gutted the tower in the late 1960s.
